There are two things that usually come easily to me: talking and having my picture taken. I had to do both of those things for this page, and it felt strangely awkward.  Why is it so much easier to do things on the fly than when people are expecting it?

I often have similar thoughts about faith: it’s much easier to trust and serve God when I think about His goodness and love than when I am motivated by guilt. I believe in a God who knows us intimately and who understands our faults because He made us. I also believe that our heavenly Father longs to be gracious to us, and that part of the Christian struggle is to grasp God’s grace in a world that is broken.

My 4-1-1: I love flowers, blue skies, SuDoku, chocolate, movies, anything creative, books, theology, accessories and exploring new places.  I have about the best parents anyone could ever ask for, as well as an older brother and sister – both married with kids. My friends and family are spread out across the U.S., but it’s Kansas I proudly call home.

In 2002, I graduated from the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!) with a degree in journalism and a minor in loving KU basketball. From there I moved to Detroit, Michigan, where I worked as a media planner for Chevrolet. I then followed God’s call to seminary and have spent the past four years in New Jersey. I graduated last May with a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Youth Ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary.
