Growing In Faith

Jesus said: “By this all people will know that you are my disciples—if you love one another.”

What does it mean to grow in our faith?

What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus Christ?

Is there an exam or a secret handshake you have to learn?

Seriously, what does it mean to be a follower of Christ in the 21st century?

Christian discipleship is built on exploring the Bible and learning what it has to say about Jesus, about our lives and about our world. It's also about learning how to put what we learn from the Bible into action in God's name.

At the American Church in London we believe that being a disciple is a 24/7, 365 days a year way of life. Faith in Christ isn’t just for Sundays and holidays—it transforms our whole lives from the inside out and affects how we spend our time, our energy and even our money.

We believe that discipleship begins with worship—not being entertained, but actively seeking to honor God through song and prayer and hearing the Bible proclaimed. We grow in our faith through prayer, study and service to those around us.
