Children

(Sunday 11am)

At The American Church in London we believe that faith is a lifelong journey. As our children are beginning that journey, we seek to be a place where they know they are loved, a place they enjoy, and where they can learn about God’s love through Jesus Christ.

To help them along this path we provide a range of nurturing experiences on Sunday mornings. For younger children, aged 4-6, we use a curriculum called Young Children and Worship. This is a hands-on, sensorimotor approach to Biblical storytelling that invites young people to participate in various stories from the Bible. The kids are encouraged to respond in a variety of ways that reflect their learning styles and gifts. To learn more about the program, please visit www.childrenandworship.org.

Ages 7-10 - FaithWeaver is a new curriculum from Group that we are going to begin this autumn. In its three year curriculum it covers the entire Bible and focuses on weaving together faith and life.  As our kids move up from the younger class with  an understanding of the Biblical stories, this class now helps them to connect those stories to their world.  We also want to weave together the children in the church with the rest of the ACL community as together we guide children into a lifelong journey of faith.

All children are encouraged to participate in

Junior Choir, led by Joanna Davies.

We rehearse right after the service,

during coffee hour, and finish around 12:30.

Members of the congregation who serve on the Children’s Committee are on a teaching rotation that puts them in the classroom once or twice each month. To ensure safety, each volunteer submits to a background check in order to work with children, and they always teach in pairs. For more on our security and check-in procedures, click HERE.
